Debate Competition

1. Team Composition • Each team shall consist of: - 1 For Speaker - 1 Against Speaker - 1 Interjector • Teams shall be randomly paired on the day of the competition. 2. Format • A separate motion shall be announced for each day. • Each speaker shall have 1 minute 30 seconds for the opening statement. • This will be followed by 30 seconds of interjection and 30 seconds for response. • Interjections must directly address the speaker's arguments and remain relevant to the motion. • Participants must strictly follow the allotted time. 3. Conduct • Personal attacks, discriminatory remarks, irrelevant arguments and unauthorised interruption are prohibited. 4. Scoring • For Speakers, Against Speakers and Interjectors shall be evaluated separately. • A Winner and Runner-up shall be awarded in each category. • The decision of the judging panel shall be final.
