About This Activity

A team-based competition encouraging students to develop original solutions for waste reduction, recycling, reuse and sustainability. Teams create and present an innovative model or prototype addressing real-world waste challenges, followed by a brief Q&A with the judges.

Guidelines & Event Rules

1. Team Composition • Participation is strictly in groups of 3 to 5 members. • Members must belong to the same school or university. 2. Theme & Originality • All models and presentations must align with Zero Waste Innovation. • Projects should focus on sustainability, recycling and waste reduction. • The project must be original and student-developed. • Plagiarism or pre-made models will lead to immediate disqualification. 3. Presentation • Each team gets 5–7 minutes to present and explain its model. • A short Q&A with the judges will follow the presentation.

Evaluation & Judging Criteria

Sustainability impact, innovation, feasibility, prototype/model design, and presentation and Q&A quality.
